5-6pm: Biz of the Biz (Carrie Brandon)
April 25th
Are you interested in pursuing a career in theatre? Are you just beginning your career and want some support? Are you a former pro performing looking to dip your toes back in? Are you someone who performs for fun and wants to learn more about the theatre industry? In this class you will be introduced to the behind the scenes BIZ side of Show Biz. You will learn about what it takes to make a career in theatre, get questions answered about headshots and resumes, and learn what performers need to prepare in order to be competitive. What is the difference between a manager and an agent? How do you get started submitting to projects? What does a casting director really do? What makes a headshot pop?! All these questions and more are answered in this one time seminar style class, with a Q&A at the end for any questions you may have left over.

Table Read Workshop (Kim Bromley)
This workshop addresses issues directors might want to think about with regard to conducting table work, but anyone interested in this process is very, very welcome. We’ll talk about what works and what doesn’t when sitting, reading and discussing; expectations actors bring and the best use of time when discussing a play’s characters and depths. We’ll conduct our own table work session with a play that will be distributed ahead of the workshop and role play scenarios and ways in which to work.
