Musical Theatre Vocal Styles
Time: Wednesdays at 4:30-6:00pm
Instructor: Carrie Brandon
Dates: November 4th - December 16th (No class Thanksgiving week)
Price: $10/class, $60 for all 6 classes
Class Description: (Drop In Accepted - 12 Student Limit)
Each week we will focus on a style of music that is common in Musical Theatre (Golden Age, Folk/Country, Disney, Pop/Rock, Contemporary MT, and other genres of choice). We will discuss musicals that use each style, discuss elements of each, and students will have an opportunity to share cuts (16-32 bars), and spend some time working with me individually while everyone learns from each other.
Instructor Qualifications:
National Tours: Once, Charlie Brown Christmas
BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State University
Other credits include: many principal roles in shows at regional theatres across the country, lead soloist on Aida Cruiseline, symphony soloist, recording artist, and experienced private voice teacher/coach
