History of Marin Musical Theatre Company
Marin Musical Theatre Company (MMTC) grew out the talents and friendships of a group of singers, actors and dancers who first came together under the banner of “West Marin Players” (WMP) in 2011. Created to bring Gilbert & Sullivan to West Marin, WMP presented four years of sold-out Gilbert & Sullivan shows in Point Reyes Station and, in 2015, a Broadway musical, The Most Happy Fella.
Wanting to bring the joys of traditional Broadway musicals to a wider audience, amateur and professional performers who had worked together on past productions formed MMTC to present musical theatre and engage in community education and volunteer activities that help foster and enrich the performing arts in the North Bay.
MMTC presented its first production, Kiss Me Kate, at The Playhouse in San Anselmo in July 2016.
