Directing
Theory and Practice
Time: Thursdays at 5:30-6:30pm
Instructor: Kim Bromley
Dates: January 28th - February 18th
Price: $10/class, $40 for all 4 classes
Class Description: (Drop In Accepted)
What IS directing? This drop-in workshop will explore what directing is (and what it isn’t) and what motivates directors to direct. We’ll discuss everything from theories of movement and composition to how to manage talent. We’ll talk about topics the members of the class are interested in and hopefully answer questions about the craft, including the difference between directing musicals vs straight plays and how to respectfully disagree with actors. If you’re interested in directing but aren’t sure how to get started, join us! If you’re just curious about the myriad considerations a director must entertain, join us!
Kim Bromley has taught stage & body movement, children's theater, Interpretive reading, film production. She is also a director, actor, and producer.
